Vibro separator for flattened rice

Why a Vibro Separator is The Essential Machine for a Flattened Rice Manufacturer ?

In this blog, we will walk you through detailed industrial manufacturing process of how flattened rice is made along with information of where & why modern day sieving & separation machines are required between its various manufacturing stages.

Before we get to its factory making process, let us know few interesting facts about flattened rice.

Flattened rice is nothing but simply the rice which is flattened into flat, light, dry flakes.

Flattened rice is widely consumed in South Asian counties like India, Bangladesh, and Nepal. India; however, ranks top in list for its consumption as well as production.

Flattened rice is among the standard breakfast in most of the parts of India & most loved snacks as well. Its popularity in Indian subcontinent could be measured by the multiple names it has derived among different states, like it is called pauaa or pohe in Gujarat, Maharashtra, & Rajasthan, avalakki in Karnataka, chuda in Odisha, aval in Tamil Nadu & Kerala, sira in Assam, and chira in Bengal.

More than 150 dishes are made from flattened rice in India, pohwa, chevda, & dudh pohwa to name a few.

Talking about “how it is made”, well it all starts with paddy farming. Yes, the manufacturers buy paddy from locals.

Paddy obtained from farm contains many unwanted materials like small stones, clay surfaces, dust, etc. So the first & foremost step is to remove & separate those unwanted stones & dust particulates.

Our prime rectangular vibro sieve known as Linea Sivtek® could be the best alternative to conventional manual sieves for de-stoning & de-dusting the paddy.

Why Linea Sivtek® over conventional manual sieves?

High output and high accuracy

Totally enclosed system – Enclosed system prevents operators from dust particles and also it makes sure that no airborne or human contaminations like hair, etc. enters the paddy while sieving.

Less Manpower

Once paddy is separated from stones and dust particles, paddy is washed & soaked in water for 16 to 20 hours.

Further paddy is taken out of water & left outside for almost 12-13 hours. (Mostly in night), then roasting of paddy takes place in a roster machine. Roasted paddy goes into pohwa making machine aka press machine. Grains are peeled off & rice grain starts exposing & takes the shape of flattened rice in the press machine.

Once the rice is pressed & flattened, the next step is to sieve & grade it. It becomes mandatory to screen & sieve the flattened rice after pressing to remove & separate paddy husk & broken rice.

Many industrial manufacturers still use traditional rectangular sieves; but, as with conventional sieves problems could be more advance. Yes, with conventional sieves, it becomes more difficult to get accurate sieving & also dust free operation is not possible. Chances of air borne & human contamination getting along are quite high.

To overcome such issues; best in class & modern day gyratory sifters like Sivtek Vibro Separator® could play vital & significant role. Precise screening & enclosed system eliminates the issues that one could face with traditional sieves.

Once broken rice & paddy husk are removed, the next step is to send flattened rice to flaker machine for polishing the flattened rice & to obtain thick poha.

Again; after polishing the fattened rice in poha flaker machine and before packaging, screening is required to remove powder & broken tiny particles generated during the polishing process.

Our robust & advance sieving machines like Sivtek Vibro Separator® & Inline Sivtek separator could be replace with traditional rotary sieves for de dusting the flattened rice after polishing to achieve high quality poha.

Additionally, magnetic grill could either be attached to outlets of our sieving machines or at packaging system’s outlet to make sure no ferrous particles go along with final product in packaging.

Sometimes, elements like nut bolts pass away along with final product. Any such ferrous particles found in flattened rice by consumer, it could severely damage reputation of brand.

To sum up, Galaxy Sivtek can provide all round sieving & separation solution for achieving high quality flattened rice. If you are searching solutions for flattened rice which is sieving, screening and separation so please contact our expert now.
